Halloweast

Becoming the Senior RA, I was in charge of spearheading our fall signature event: Halloweast. For Halloweast we assembled and ran a haunted house in a study lounge as well as had games, face paint, and food in the lobby.

Goal: Celebrate Halloween through our annual signature event

Team: 13 RAs

Budget: $1000

  • Hauted house: decor, costumes, makeup, barriers, lights, props

  • Lobby: food, decor, tea leaves, face painting

Setup:

  • Haunted house: themed around the movie Coraline

    • Enter with portal and find Coraline happy with cake

    • Go through circus scene with people popping out

    • Other Father and Mother offer person buttons to stay forever

    • Meet ghosts that tell person it’s a trap and they need to find 3 marbles throughout the garden to get out

    • Scary garden with spiders and tree popping out

    • Other mother traps Coraline and Other Mother chases person out

  • Lobby:

    • Tea leaf reading with RA dressed as psychic

    • Movie on lobby TV

    • Snack table by movie
